TextPad is designed to provide powerful features and functionality that meet the most demanding text editing requirements. It can edit files up to the virtual memory limit and can be used with 64 bit versions of Windows 32, 64, 10, 8.1, 7 and Server 2008 to 2022.

TextPad is implemented according to the Windows user interface guide, so it is highly valued to make it easy for beginners and experienced users to use. Contextual help is available for all commands, and right-click to pop up the menu in the context. The Windows multi document interface allows for simultaneous editing of multiple files, with a maximum of 2 views per file. You can drag and drop text between files.

In addition to the usual cut and paste functions, you can also use commands to correct the most common typing errors, change case, and transpose words, characters, and lines. Other commands allow you to indent text blocks, split or connect lines, and insert the entire file. Any changes can be undone or redone, directly returning to the first change made. Visible bookmarks can be placed on lines, and editing commands can be applied to lines with bookmarks.

Commonly used command combinations can be saved as keystroke macros, and the spelling checker has a dictionary of 10 languages.

It also has a customizable tool menu, as well as complete file comparison and search commands, where hypertext jumps from matching text to corresponding lines in the source file (perfect for integrating compilers).
