compress
decompression
The compressed file detection function of Bandizip is used to check whether the compressed file is damaged. The detection process is roughly as follows:
decompression
When decompressing data from a compressed file, if the data is found to be damaged, an error message will be displayed.
check sum
If the compressed file format contains checksum information such as CRC32, verify the checksum of the compressed file and the checksum of the decompressed data. If the checksum information of the two is different, the CRC error message will be displayed as follows.
Provide compressed format for checksum information
ZIP, RAR, 7Z, ARJ, LZH, ALZ, EGG, GZ, ...
The following formats do not provide checksum information, and files in these formats will not display CRC error messages even if they are damaged.
TAR, ISO, IMG, UDF, ...
Check whether the backend data has been truncated
If a compressed file is forced to interrupt during network transmission, the backend data of the file may be truncated. Using the compressed file detection function to detect such issues will display an error message indicating that the backend of the file has been truncated.
